What is a Forest School?
The Forest School ethos focuses on a child-centred approach to learning that maximises the emotional, social, and developmental benefits of education and promotes holistic learning. Forest School works with children and young people in the outdoors over a period of time, introducing responsible, risk-taking and setting participants up to achieve through hands-on experiences in a natural environment.
Research now backs that children and young people are stimulated by the outdoors and typically experience, over time, an increase in their self-belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, communication and problem-solving skills and emotional well-being.
WILDlings run weekly Forest school sessions all year round for pre-school and home educated children and termly Forest School for schools. We also run Family Fun Days with Forest School type activities throughout the school holidays.
